What Are New Canvas Calendar Features and Known Issues?

The Calendar feature in Canvas provides a centralized view of all assignments and events across multiple courses, helping both instructors and students stay organized throughout the term. This powerful organizational tool helps users to manage their academic schedules efficiently across multiple courses with different timelines and due dates.

Known Issues
Students Can’t See Calendar events 

Instructor to-do:

  1. Make sure the event was put on their Canvas course calendar and not personal canvas calendar
  2. Students have their course selected to view calendar events
  3. Confirm Student has a role in the course 
Scheduled Zoom meetings are not being added to Canvas Calendar

Instructors should note that those specific features of the Zoom LTI Pro were intentionally not enabled because of the way that Brown has rolled out Zoom to our community. At this time the best method to share your Zoom links via Canvas calendar is to use the Canvas LTI to create meetings and then copy the Zoom meeting link it generated into the details of your Canvas calendar
