Notice: Recent CourseTools Canvas Site Request Data Discrepancies and Access

What is the issue?

Some active Brown courses listed at Courses@Brown are incorrectly appearing as "Cancelled," which prevents site creation in CourseTools. Additionally, some instructors are currently unable to request their own sites directly through the standard process.

What is being done?

OIT and DLD are actively monitoring the system for "Cancelled" errors and working to stabilize the data sync between CAB, CourseTools, and Canvas.  Our offices are addressing these bugs as they arise to ensure all course data is accurate.

What to do in the meantime?

Report Errors: If your course is incorrectly listed as "Cancelled," contact [email protected] immediately to have it corrected.

Manual Workaround: For instructors unable to create sites directly in CourseTools: please ask a staff member, TA, or DLD to submit the request. The integration will work correctly as long as the instructor's name appears in CAB."
